This is a different type of post than I normally write. I have decided to go all battery powered equipment for our lawn care this past summer. To help you avoid the frustration I have experienced in starting the mower, let’s go over the steps in starting an EGO battery powered mower.

I have been using these EGO power products this past summer; the Edger, Trimmer, and Lawnmower. I decided to switch from gas powered lawn products. Refer to below image for the three products:
The EGO line-up can be obtained from Lowe’s or Amazon (my preference). I suggest in purchasing a high-end replacement blade, the third generation of batteries or higher, and a cover. The mower comes with a bagger (nor shown). As of this writing, if you purchase the mower with the batteries as a package, you might be sent the second generation of batteries. Although the blade that comes with the mower is adequate, I found the blade too easy to become damaged.
My three products have worked fine. The 21 inch self propelled mower is equivalent to a gas mower such as a 4 or 5 horsepower Honda mower. The EGO has tremendous torque and could be used in a commercial environment, as well as home yards.
First, charge the two 56 volt batteries using the appropriate battery charger. Next, insert the batteries into their chambers until they click into place. Now, close the cover until it clicks. See below image:
Next, extend to handle to its fullest position and lock into place with the two wrap around plastic locks. See following image:
The tendency is to not extend the handle. You may lower or raise the handle via a side lever. Notice the wording on the brace between the locks. Unless the handle is fully extended and the locked in place, the mower will not start. Refer to below image:
Now, place the mover on a flat surface, not in the grass. Follow the 3 steps located at front of mower handle. For step 1, I recommend you set the self-propelled speed to slow. You can adjust this later. Now, step 2, press the big yellow start button, and step 3, pull the handle bar toward you and your mower will start. The lever to propel the mower is underneath the handle. See below image:
When finished mowing, remove the batteries and recharge them. Next, use the side lever to fold the mower, then push the handle in. You store the mower upright on its back wheels. See following image:
